Smiley :)

Aaron is such a happy baby! He loves hanging out and watching your face. As soon as he makes eye contact he gives a huge smile that makes me melt every time :) He is also smiling a lot at Tim! Aaron always wants to know where daddy is when he hears his voice. Although he loves his sister, she makes him a little nervous, so she gets wide-eyed looks instead of smiles most of the time ;)

2 months old!

I can't believe Aaron is already 2 months old, but at the same time everyone who meets him thinks he's older :) I smile because I know it's because he is so big. I love my chunky little baby!!! Who doesn't love a chubby baby?!

We started going to a new pediatric office. So at Aaron's well visit, the dr asked "Wait, how big was he at birth?"
I responded, "6 lbs 11oz."
He said, "Wow! He's really got breast feeding down!"
At 13 lbs something oz, Aaron is our big boy. He's already doubled his birth weight! I love kissing his chubby cheeks and ticking his rolly thighs. At a month and a half, he was already wearing 3 month clothing...and I'm afraid we might be moving onto 6 months too soon.

Aaron is becoming more a member of our family as he coos and smiles at us while we play and interact. His favorite thing is to watch his sister as she plays with him or shows him how to do something. He also loves mimicking you when you say "agoo."

Aaron does have an umbilical hernia.
An umbilical hernia is when part of the intestine protrudes through an opening in the abdominal muscles where the umbilical cord was connected. I noticed it when his inny belly button quickly turned into a pronounced outty after his 1 month visit. Hopefully it closed up before he turns three or gets bigger, otherwise surgery is necessary .

Here are Aaron's 2 month pictures and another one where he looks so darn
cute :)

Happy Tuesday

Some of my friends have asked me "So, what do you do all day?" Here was our day yesterday:

-Aaron slept in his swing, while Elliot and I practiced letters and put a kindergarten resource use. She was able to identify a couple letters, but mostly liked to run up and down the hall on the letters.
-Elliot had a meltdown about something that I don't remember. which resulted in an early nap.
-After a nap and lunch, we went for a walk to the village. Aaron slept the whole time.
-Elliot and I shared a smoothie and enjoyed the warmer weather.
-Aaron woke up while Elliot ran around the library... this meant we had to leave early.
-Later that day, Elliot and I were watching Cinderella and the power randomly went out. Thankfully came back an hour or two later!

So that was Tuesday :)

Sibling Love

This morning while Elliot was watching Super Why (a favorite show), she insisted on holding Aaron! She is becoming a great big sister.

Elliot is very possessive of Aaron when we are in public and yells at strangers if they approach her brother. You will hear a powerful "No mine! My boy!" although this can get annoying, it's helpful to deter strangers from approaching us ;) Elliot is also starting to enjoy Aaron participating in our activities. She really likes when he "dances" with us or sits with us during tea. Right now she finds him amusing, but this will change fast when he starts going after her stuff. Thankfully we have some time before this stage :)
